Wachusett Top 10 in Nation
Wachusett Mountain Honored by SKI Magazine Readers!
For the second consecutive year, SKI Magazine readers have recognized Wachusett Mountain among the top 10 ski resorts in the United States and Canada. Results of the publication’s 2008 Reader Resort Survey were recently published in the October 2007 issue. This year marked the first time SKI Magazine readers have recognized Wachusett among the top 10 in the North America in three separate categories:
- Family Programs #2
- Accessibility #4
- Grooming #6
Nationally, Wachusett had previously been voted #2 in Family Programs in 1997 and was recognized as #7 for accessibility in the 2007 survey.
This year, Wachusett also earned top-10 rankings in eight categories among Eastern North American resorts:
- Accessibility #1
- Family Programs #2
- On-Mountain Food #3
- Customer Service #4
- Grooming #4
- Terrain Parks #8
- Lifts #10
- Weather #10
“Those rankings are a reflection of our staff’s dedication of providing a first-class experience for all our guests,” said Wachusett Mountain General Manager David Crowley. “We’re very proud that SKI Magazine readers have recognized us among some of the best-known ski resorts in the country.”
In the “Family Programs” category, Wachusett was noted ahead of such prestigious resorts as Deer Valley, UT and Snowmass, CO. In the “Grooming” category, Wachusett was cited ahead of resorts such as Vail, CO; Sun Valley, ID; and Stratton Mountain, VT. With its convenient location in southern New England (20 minutes of Worcester; 1 hour from Boston and just over an hour from Providence), Wachusett’s national rating in accessibility was beaten only by resorts located close to Salt Lake City, UT. | |

Family Dining at the Wachusett Village Inn gets a thumbs up from the editor of Today's Parent, Carrie Wattu. Carrie descibes dinner at the Inn as "a relaxing dining experience in a down-to-earth atmosphere." She says the Inn is both formal and casual with a fireplace as the centerpiece for the two ajoining restaurants. Carrie rates service as attentive and concerned for every comfort of each guest. Warm bread and an ample menu, with everything from traditional "Taste of New England" to the more adventurous "Taste of the Wild," provides something for everyone. The prices are affordable, with appetizers and salads starting at $5.95, pasta dishes, lighter fare and specials as well as a typical children's menu. "If you're heading north to enjoy the foliage or the upcoming ski season, the Wachusett Village Inn is indeed family friendly, filled with New England warmth and hospitality."
Washusett Village Inn Rated #21 by Lodging Hospitality Magazine as one of 400 top performers in providing lodging near an airport or highway up from #27 last year. Ranking is based on sales per room, total sales, and average occupancy.
